Are you warm enough?
High up on the fifteenth floor of a tall city building, a little owl family shivers in the cold. Mr. Klopper, who works in the office next door, notices their trembling and decides to help.
The little owl family who lives on the fifteenth floor of the SANLAM-building are shivering in their little owl house. Mr. Klopper, who works in the office next to the owl family, is keeping a watchful eye on them. It concerns him that they are trembling and shivering so much.
Because the owl house is so high against the building, an icy wind is also blowing. The temperature often drops in a few minutes and then the situation is even worse.
Mr. Klopper then decides to think about a plan to keep the little owls warmer. He contacted people who are willing to donate money to devise a better plan. He has already discovered a special heater for birds which can be fitted directly into their house.
He puts up photos everywhere for people to see and to donate money to buy the very expensive heater. In a few days’ time he already collected enough money to buy the heater.
Another problem pops up. How is he going to get this heater into the little owl house? The windows of his office can’t open and the only way of getting there is from the outside.
He luckily sees that the window washers have a cute hoisting apparatus with which they are hoisted up against the building to wash the windows. He very nicely asks for their help. They can’t just put the heater into the nest; he must also install a wall plug to reload the battery.
It is some operation to get everything ready. He gets a rechargeable drill and with the necessary fittings install the wall plug outside the office. In a jiffy everything is ready. The owls are sitting comfortably and warm in their new little home.
The first question Mr. Klopper now asks the owls is: “Are you warm enough?” When he sees them sitting contentedly together and that they don’t tremble and shiver anymore, he can return to his work. He did what he could do, and everything looks awesome. One person can make a difference.
