Cathy Home and Cathy School
High up in the mountains, in a little house filled with love, lived a girl named Cathy. At school she was always helpful, but at home she sometimes forgot to show the same kindness to her mommy.
Once upon a time long, long ago there was a little girl. Her name was Cathy.
Cathy lived with her mommy in a little house high in the mountain. Although they didn’t have a lot of money, her mommy loved her very much and did everything she could for her little daughter.
Every day when Cathy came home, she threw her suitcase down and didn’t want to help her mommy with anything. “Please lay the table,” Mommy would ask and Cathy would just reply: “Oh, Mommy I don’t feel like it.” This made her mommy very sad.
At school Cathy was a clever girl and always helped her teacher with tasks in class. She never said that she didn’t feel like doing them. She was brilliant.
One afternoon she again comes home and throws her suitcase right across the room. Her mommy greets her, but Cathy doesn’t even answer her. Her mommy asks: “Cathy, will you please lay the table?” Cathy answers with a nasty voice: “Mommy, I don’t want to do this now. Do it yourself.” Mommy then tells her they have a guest for supper. She is sitting in the lounge and can hear everything.
When Cathy looks around the corner, she sees her teacher whom she always helps in class and never moans when doing any tasks. Cathy bursts into tears. “I’m so sorry, Mommy. I’ll never again be so bad and I’ll always help you.” Mommy embraced Cathy and she immediately laid the table. They enjoyed a wonderful meal.
Cathy never again behaved so badly and always helped her mommy.
Cathy also learned an important lesson: Never change who you are when you are with other people. Just be yourself and always be friendly and helpful. People will then love you very much.
