“Finish eating, Piglet.”
Every morning, the farm animals rush off to Grandpa Owl’s school, to learn and play. When Piglet struggles to eat, Mother Hen realizes he’s sick and helps him feel better.
Every day the children of the farm animals go to the farm school where Grandpa Owl is the school master. They enjoy going to school. Grandpa Owl teaches them the most interesting things. In the morning they run to school to keep on learning more and more.
Mother Hen is responsible for ensuring that these farm children get nice food at the school. Usually Callie Chicken, Gary Goose, Lulu Lamb and Franny Filly are the first to fetch their delicious snacks from Mother Hen. They are always first in the queue.
Carl Calf and Peter Piglet are always last because they like to play along the way and then they forget everything around them. Today Mother Hen isn’t very friendly. Callie and the little chicks kept her awake during the whole night. They had aching tummies and she tried her best to give all of them their medicine.
In the class Grandpa Owl is teaching the kids about healthy eating habits. He tells them that they should eat their veggies every day to get bright eyes, a shiny skin and a happy nature. Everybody listens attentively, but one also hears a few tummies growling with hunger.
Grandpa Owl scarcely finished the lesson when everybody jogged to mother Hen’s kitchen. Callie, Gary, Lulu and Franny nearly fall over their feet running along to be first to get there. Mother Hen must check them so that they don’t just storm inside and eat everything! She cooked the most delicious vegetables and added just the right amount of salt and sugar.
Carl and Peter are strolling along. They know Mother Hen will keep their food even if they get there long after the others. They plop onto the small wooden benches and without caring much they start eating the delicious food. Mother Hen notices that Peter Piglet suddenly stops eating and keeps on playing with a small block which he brought with him from the classroom.
After a quarter of an hour mother Hen becomes angry. “No, Peter! Don’t you have any manners? Since when does one push one’s food around in the plate? Finish eating! I still have a lot of work to do!”
“Oh, Mother Hen, my tummy is very sore! I love food so much! I like it so much, but I just can’t!” Tears trickle down his cheeks.
“I’m very sorry, my dear! Let me give you some custard. This will make you feel better instantly!” Half an hour later Peter is fast asleep.
Mother Hen sees he looks much better. She will definitely have to tell his mom that her son was ill today.
